And The Winner Is.....

The SunScreen Independent Music Video Competition drew to a close late December 2007 with another great line up of Australian independent videos being served up online over an eight week period prior to the final screening live at Festival of the Sun at Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park Port Macquarie.

Bluejuice took out the top prize for their video of 'Vitriol' , directed by Sam Bennetts, in what was their first year of entering the competition. All the finalists were screened to some 3000 people who, over two nights at Festival of the Sun, got to decide the winner by participating via interactive SMS voting.

Once again SunScreen was inundated with Independent music videos from all over Australia with the final sixteen videos as follows.

SunScreen would like to thank all the Sponsors, Artists, Video Directors and also fans who took part in the 2007 competition, as well as our sponsors and supporters who offered $10,000 in prizes for the winner.

As well as some fantastic prizes, major supporter SBA music is once again selecting a number of videos, including submissions that didn't make it through to the final, to be added to the SBA Independent Music Channel seen on some 2000 of their video jukeboxes Australia wide. SunScreen has also been approached by Federation Square for screening throughout the May/June.

This is another fantastic opportunity for wider exposure for Directors and Artists alike.

SunScreen is a national competition to uncover Australia’s most talented music clip makers. Now in its third year SunScreen was created to give Australian independent artists and music video makers the chance to showcase their videos to Australian audiences, minus the competition of massive budgets and major label promotion teams. The quality of entries received in the first 3 years of the event have shed some light on the incredible talents of our independent music video makers, and in 2008 the competition will make a much welcomed return for a third year.
